  • 强关联电子体系国际会议首次在中国召开

     5月8日至13日,2016年强关联电子体系国际会议(International Conference on Strongly Correlated Electron Systems,SCES 2016)在浙江大学紫金港校区举行,来自全球34个国家的500余名代表参加了本次大会,这是大会自1992年召开以来首次在中国举办。浙江大学校长吴朝晖到会并致欢迎词辞。在会议开幕式前,吴朝晖与与会的中科院物理所研究员于渌院士、清华大学副校长薛其坤院士、德国马普固体化学物理研究所前所长、浙江大学关联物质研究中心主任Frank Steglich教授、瑞士联邦理工学院T. M.Rice教授以及美国加州大学欧文分校Zachary Fisk教授等本领域著名科学家会谈,讨论相关学科的发展前景,对他们的支持表示感谢。          强关联电子体系国际会议是国际强关联物理研究领域的重要年度学术会议。该会议最早属于“重费米子”研究领域的国际会议,主要研讨一类稀土和过渡族金属与合金体系。近些年来,会议主题不断扩展,涉及各种强关联系统,包括莫特绝缘体、高温超导、有机关联固体等,主题囊括重费米子物理、非常规超导、量子磁性、表面与界面强关联物理、多铁和铁电材料、强关联理论等强关联电子系统的各个方向。于渌院士在参加完本次会议后,专门写了一篇“关于SCES 2016的印象”。他指出,导致这一推广的重要原因在于“重费米子”是强关联电子体系的一个‘代表性模型’,它比较‘干净’,又比较容易通过化学掺杂、加压、加磁场、降温等手段进行调控和精确的表征。“强关联电子体系是最具有生命力的一个研究方向。随着一些新思维的引入和一些新材料的发现,强关联物理研究迎来了新的发展机遇”,美国科学院院士、加州大学欧文分校的Zachary Fisk教授在谈及强关联电子体系的发展时做出上述表述。          本次会议由浙江大学关联物质研究中心和物理系共同主办,张富春教授任会议主席,袁辉球教授和许祝安教授为会议共同主席。会议主题涵盖强关联电子体系的不同方面,包括重费米子物理、量子相变、非常规超导、金属-绝缘体转变、表面与界面强关联物理等11个方面。本次会议是中国科学家参会人数最多的一次。美国拉斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室的Joe Thompson 博士所说,“中国科学家在强关联物理研究领域的迅速发展在这次会议上得到了充分的表现。”      […]
